Simple Keyword Research

Keyword Research starts with a general list of keywords that you want to target. We process this list and find out if people are searching for these terms. The goal of our keyword research services is to identify the specific terms or phrases that get people to your site (the niche terms) for example “stock market analysis” would be a better term to go for then “stock market”. The right terms make all the difference because if you have the specific terms or phrases, you will most likely capture your target audience.

Once we identify a good list of keywords to target, we naturally will want to see what other websites will come up when we do a search for each term. We will perform the same search in multiple search engines to see how many sites come up in the results listings. Then we start to look at the top listed sites to see what they are all about. This helps us determine the level of difficulty in attaining a top listing for a certain keyword. Some might be easy to get the site ranked for, others might be tough.

Depending on the extent of the competition, we might eliminate some keywords from the list. It is important to spend the time to identify the right terms for your site because you want to get as much targeted traffic as possible in the shortest amount of time possible your keywords are essential to a productive search engine marketing campaign.

You could also choose to perform your own keyword research and there are many tools that can help you in this area. Naturally you would want to go with one that doesn’t cost you any money and there are alot of those as well. My personal choice is to use the Google Keyword Tool even though it was made to help manage Adwords campaigns. There are also some higher end programs that you can use to get into more detail but if you chose one of these programs make sure that you have a good idea about how they will work and the pro and cons of each program.
