Pay per click, or PPC, is an advertising technique used on websites, advertising networks, and search engines. With search engines, pay per click advertisements are usually text ads placed near search results; when a site visitor clicks on the advertisement, the advertiser is charged a small amount. Variants include pay for placement and pay for ranking. Pay per click is also sometimes known as Cost Per Click (CPC).

While many companies exist in this space, Google Adwords and Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly Overture) are the largest network operators as of 2006. MSN has their own PPC services MSN AdCenter. Other networks include Findwhat, Shopping.com, NexTag, BizRate and PriceGrabber. Depending on the search engine, minimum prices per click start at US$0.01. Very popular search terms can cost much more on popular engines.

One thing to keep in mind is that Pay Per Click is not SEO, although some would have you believe that it is. There are many companies that claim they can get your website to the top of the search engines over night and they even charge you a fairly small fee to do this. The truth is that these companies are pretending to do SEO for your site when in reality all they are doing is listing your site in a Pay Per Click campaign. There is nothing wrong with this, but just make sure that the company your speaking with is in fact going to preform organic seo and not Pay Per Click. Just thought I’d throw that in there to add a little more content to this page, but the statement is still true.

Anyway, Pay Per Click is not a bad thing as long as you have the funds for it and as long as you have someone managing the campaign who actually knows what they doing. Most professional companies will have a certified certificate posted on their site which states that they are qualified through google to manage your campaign, even though this can be faked it still provides a little more comfort when choosing the company you plan to go with. Just food for thought, and as always, thanks for reading.

This is an old page from our previously designed site, instead of loosing this content I thought it would be a great idea to add it to this site as an article. Some of the information might be a little old but it is still a good read.

Has networking become a lost art in today’s market? I certainly think so and several business professionals certainly can agree. In an age where the internet can be the single lifeline of a business and the pitfall of not having a internet presence can be tasted in the mouth’s of investors who underestimated today’s market and what would be called” the changing of the guard” from old age advertising tactics like the phone book ad which died out in the stone age, to the new space age in which everybody is on the internet from the wife trying to find a new yoga spot and juice bar,the kids who want to find when the new Halo comes out , to granny wanting to find a new local bingo hall.

Having an internet presence is a must in order to get your customers in front of your product , unless you have a 35 million dollar advertising budget like Mc Donald’s to put your product or services in front of the buying market, you are going to need to have a solid online presence. Networking is key to pitching your product to customers and what better way to expose that than the internet? For example if you have the best burger spot in town I’m probably going to hear about that through word of mouth, which is still one of, and if not the most effective forms of advertisement. But if I want to buy a house from a local Realtor I’m going to likely look online and click on one of the sites listed on the first page for representatives from my area.

My advice is start a website if you don’t have one and investing in some SEO is key to an online business because in today’s competitive market you can’t afford to put all your chips in non strategic locations, you may have good motives and intent for your business but bad business moves means an unsuccessful business, and while your sleeping your competitor is upgrading your ideas into a profitable blueprint for their success .

For those who are everyday bloggers this article will be nothing new to them, but for those who are just starting out you may find this information helpful. Just what is blogging for search traffic anyway? This has a fairly simple answer, all this really means is that your blog post are meant to do two things. 1: Rank in the search engines, and 2: Turn those rankings into traffic. That sounds easy enough right? Well creating the article is the easy part, ranking in the search engines is another matter. With some careful planing you could rank pretty well but it all depends on how you target your keywords. The trick to ranking well is to be the first one to blog about a certain topic, for example the other day I did an article on the owners of My Therapy Journal the reason for this was because I like what they are doing, the other was I that I was pretty sure that after these guys got their few minutes of fame from the t.v. show Shark Tank their search numbers would be up. Within 5 minutes of posting the article it was ranked #3 for the keyword My Therapy Journal, and the traffic I got from it was pretty darn good. Now of course I did not receive any sales or new clients from this but that was not the point of posting the article, again the point was to produce more traffic to my site.

In my mind all traffic is good traffic no matter where it comes from, the more I can get the better it will be for the site. I’m sure the main question here is how do you get your article to rank so fast for those type of keywords? I’ll never tell, just kidding. The answer to this one is not that easy, but here are a few tips that should help when you are posting your articles.

1. Chose the best title possible. You want a title that people will put in the search box but at the same time is not that competitive. For example, instead of saying “WordPress Plugins” you might say something like “5 Easy WordPress Plugins”. I know that may not be the best example but hopefully you get the picture..

2. Get some links. I know this one is a no brainer but I’m not really talking about the kind of links you get from submitting your post to directories or anything, I’m talking about links that are instantly created once you create your post. The best place to get these kind of links are going to be from your own site provided that you have it set up in a fashion that allows your new post to be linked from all of your pages. The other place to get these links are from forums, there are forums out there which allow you place a link to your blog feed which will show your most recent blog post. These are very helpful if you have made alot of post on the forum, and it can also attract new readers to your site. You can also get these links from a few comments on other blogs, some blogs allow you to not only link to your main site but also to your latest blog post, I found this on most blogs that use the Comment Luv plugin.

3. Be the first to post. This one can be tricky and requires some careful planning. When major news happens you can bet that the Seattle Times and other major sites will be right on top of it, so to a degree you will need to do the same. If you have a story lined up and ready to go don’t wait to post it, go ahead and send it out, unless you don’t have all of the facts just yet. The quicker you get your post out there the more likely you will not have to battle to many of the major sites which will also be competing for the same traffic. Plus you have a much better chance at grabbing the traffic while the story is fresh.

Those are just a few things that you can do to push more traffic to your blog, but keep in mind that these things do not just happen over night, you still need to have a pretty good website that is also well linked from other sources, this will help to push the site a little higher when you are targeting some of the keywords you are looking to get traffic from. Again, remember that the goal when doing this is only for traffic, there is a good chance that you are not going get clients from people who are looking for the latest info on Obama, but if you can put your site up there with an article that is relevant this will open the door for new readers and maybe even a few adsence click throughs if you have those on your site. Hopefully this will help some of you who may be struggling a little with traffic to your blog, it is not the best solution but it is one that works for me and for the most part brings in some pretty good results.

As always, thanks for reading and check back soon.

I talk to alot of people who either own a business or is thinking about starting one. It still amazes me how some companies really feel that they do not need to have a presence online. The justification for not pushing their business online is always that they are happy with the way things are going now. That’s great, if a business is already doing well without online marketing then what is the point of trying to get them to start? After all, word of mouth is still the most powerful form of advertising you can get, so what makes online marketing so important for a business who may not need it? Well, the answer is that although your business may doing good today without online marketing this may not be the case in the future. As a business owner you have to realize that times are changing and they are changing at a speed which is leaving most businesses in the stone age. More and more local companies are going out of business due to the fact that they refuse to change with the times.

A few months back I was speaking with one of our local produce companies which have been around since the 60′s, a great company with great customer service and products. However, the business is taking a dive now and contracts are coming in slower and slower, contracts that use to his bread and butter are now moving towards different companies. I asked the owner why he thought the business was struggling so much. His answer of course was that he has no idea, he hasn’t been doing anything different from when he first started the company, but for some reason the customers are just not coming like they use to.

My next question was, what are you doing now to attract new business? He said nothing really, just a few ads in the local phone book but nothing major. He did point out that there was a new company in town which seems to be getting all of the contracts some how. So I did some research on the company and found that this new company has a very powerful presence on the internet, I found the site under just about every keyword related to their market. When I told him this he said “how does that make his products better than mine”? I said it doesn’t, but it what does do is put him right in front of the buying market and those looking to hire a produce company. I told him that although word of mouth is great for any business, these days you MUST have an online presence if you want to stay ahead of the competition, that is just the way things work now.

Sadly I couldn’t get the guy to commit, he said although things are not doing that good he’d rather keep it the way it is instead of making such a huge change. Well, what can I say to that? I’m not pushy so I let him go, but told him if he ever changed his mind to give me a call. The point to all of this is that although you may think that you do not need online marketing now, trust me when I say that in the future you may wish you had started sooner. My advice is that you start now, even if you really don’t need it. It is better to have presence online then to have none at all.

As always, thanks for reading.

We are proud to announce the new design of our website. It has been alot of trial and error working with the wordpress format but we pretty much have everything we need in place. As you can see we have added a blog section to the site, however, we are having trouble removing the nofollow tags from the user comment links as well as the author. We want people to be able to post and get some link love for posting, but until we can figure out how to remove the tags it will have to stay that way for now.You will also notice that we have removed our website design services from the site, the reason for this is because we want to focus more on the seo side of things and help push more websites to the top of the search engines. So if you need some high quality seo for your site then just fill our contact form and will get back to as soon as possible. If you have any questions or comments about the new design please let us know. Also be on the look out for some our articles, we have more to come but we are still the process of putting them together. We want to keep people up to date about what’s going on in the world of seo as well as online marketing, we’ll also discuss other things such as world news and sports, this is just to keep fresh content on the site as well as get you caught up on some things you may have not seen or heard yet.

The site design was inspired by Neoease and modified by us with a few plugins and other coding, we hope you like it, and again please let us know if you find anything wrong with the site.
